What should I do before undergoing Laser & IPL Spider Veins Treatment?
Patients should not be tanned at the time of the procedures. It is imperative to stay away from the sun or tanning booths for 4 weeks preceding a treatment session. Furthermore, you should abstain from the use of self-tanning products for 4 weeks prior to the treatment session.

Patients taking prescribed medications must warn the medical provider, since some medications can lead to reaction and sensitivity to light. In these situations, treatment will be postponed.

Taking anticoagulants (blood thinners) would not permit a laser spider veins treatment.

You should discuss your desired results and the improvement you expect to achieve with your medical provider. Together you can decide if your expectations will be met and if the IPL treatment is your best option.

What should I expect from Laser & IPL Spider Veins Treatment?
Before treatment a topical cold gel may be applied to the treated area.
You will wear protective eyewear throughout the treatment session.
These procedures are very well tolerated and only cause a short lived feeling of “snapping” or “discomfort”. Should you feel any discomfort during the treatment session you may benefit from a cold air jet stream, or topical gels and anesthetics.
The length of treatment sessions is dependent upon the extent of the spider veins.
Depending on the performed procedure, the patient must avoid tanning and to stay away from excessive sun for 3 weeks before and after the treatment. Daily sunscreen must be applied.
Follow up home care instructions for your skin type will be reviewed. You will also receive a prescription for compression leg stockings or ace bandages.
Hydrating and other skin care products may be recommended or prescribed to assist you with your goals. It is strongly advised that you arrive for your first session with your current skin care products so the physician and aesthetician can review these products with you.

What are the results of Laser & IPL Spider Veins Treatment? How long before I notice the results?
For few days after treatment, and mainly after the treatment of the larger veins, the affected area may feel “achey” or “itchy”. After the treatment of leg veins, patients should wear compression stockings. Occasionally a small amount of “matting” or “staining” surrounding the treated veins may occur.
